Bubbles and Foot Measurements

Full-Day preschool students learn how to make bubbles with dish soap, water, and pipe cleaners. Another small group measures objects around the school with a paper outline of their feet.

Friends helped each other trace, cut, and count how many squares fit inside their foot.

Honalee Scientists

Honalee has hit a gold mine. We are all scientists! Today, Miss Emily introduced the magnifying glasses into our science center. We have discovered attributes of different types of seeds and beans and are even growing our own plants. We encourage you to ask your little scientist all about our natural world.

Dr. Seuss in Preschool

We started out Dr. Seuss unit in preschool last week and are moving strong into this week. Last week, Ms. Shelby read The Foot Book by Dr. Seuss and then allowed students to trace and measure their feet. They did not just measure them with a ruler, they began using string to measure their foot, and then proceeded to use the snap cubes to measure the string. Finally, the students were asked to write how many “cubes long” their foot was.

The other small group is Miss Michelle’s small group. She read Dr. Seuss ABC’s and practiced writing letters with the students. She would write the uppercase and lowercase letter on the board, and then the students were able to practice writing in the shaving cream! Checkout the pictures…
