Friday Fun!

Friday in the Elementary Classroom was filled with cooperative learning and community building. Our older students divided into small groups. In their groups they had a task that was assigned to them. They had to build the tallest freestanding tower possible using only paper.

The Royal Preschool

Preschool has gotten off to a great start this year. We are diving right into our unit of study — Castles, Dragons and Fairytales. Today, the students transformed Wonderland into a Royal Palace! They built a castle in the block area and even made a moat with scary sea creatures to keep the bad guys out.

In the art room, students made shields and crowns. Then, they were able to bring them down to Wonderland and take on different roles in the dramatic play area! It was a successful day.

Lunch Recess with Elementary and Preschool

The Elementary and Preschool students have joined together for lunch. We are still getting used to the new routine, but the students have adapted well. Tuesday the weather was too hot to be outside, so we had indoor recess.

First Day of School

What an exciting first day back at school!! We started our morning meeting by reading First Day Jitters. Everyone was happy to be back in the classroom to write about and share all about their summer adventures. We made All About Me shields where we shared our favorite foods, our families, our hobbies and interesting facts about ourselves. We are thrilled to get the week started!
